Actually, some Greeks used to feed their chariot horses meat to make them mean. The man-eating mares of Diomedes ate human meat, preferably from battlefield kills or anybody who broke into their pastures. Alexander’s horse Bucephalus also felt that humans made good horse chow.
I don’t know that the Greeks ate horse. Now, I’m pretty sure the Scythians did, and the Greeks thought of some Amazons as being Scythianish, so it’s possible.
