Funko has listed off some hints for their SDCC exclusives, which reference ponies. Feel free to check it out yourself, or be assured that Derpy is getting a clear variant. The hints aim at there being a clear Rainbow Dash vairant, too.

SDCC exclusives can be pre-ordered by people attending the event. You can also pick them up there. Info is on the link above. Info from 3377345 from the MLP Arena.

Breyer600 of the Arena got an entire case of wave 8 blind bags and shared the codes. Unlike before, the codes are two letters, with the first being A and the second corresponding to the pony inside. The codes are embossed on the bottom of the bag below the MLP URL and can be read from the front.

Equestria Daily reports that Build-A-Bear’s image archives now have product images for alicorn Twilight and Spike.

Twilight looks to be about the same size as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie and can be expected to be a similar price. She has shiny wings and horn, much like the fabric used on Rainbow’s wings, along with Luna/Cadance-shaped wings like she has in the show.

The image of Spike is much smaller; he might be a “mini furry friend,” a smaller plush animal generally under $10. He could also be sized differently and be a full-sized plush like everyone else, which would lead him to not be in scale but be much more cuddleable.

BABW staff have reported that these would be the next toys, with these images confirming it. Release dates, prices, accessories and other info is currently unknown.

Merch makes money. No matter how much parents loathe it, kids want the Pokémon cards. And the figures. And the bed sheets. And the Pop Tarts. Hasbro with intellectual properties (IPs) such as Transformers, G.I. Joe and My Little Pony is well aware of how they can make money by airing a cartoon showing their characters doing things so cool that you have to buy the figures, accessories and playsets to recreate the adventures in your own house.

This happened

Making a show for the sole purpose of advertising the toys isn’t something new, as it’s been going on for over 40 years, more than half of the lifespan of American broadcast television. It’s no surprise that the history of this genre of animation is full of lackluster storylines, booming sales and accusations of exploitation. Read more →

Tinrobo on the MLP Arena found this girl on Taobao.

Compare to the prototype we saw on Taobao two years ago.

The cutie mark has been simplified, the eyes have been changed pink and are one color, the body color has been tweaked to be more blue and the white of the hair has been removed.

It’s possible that this is simply a test pony, but the new cutie mark design is an interesting find.

Minty was a popular character during G3. A pony who collected socks and was rereleased often during Christmas, she was dropped when Hasbro whittled the characters down to the core 7. Bringing her back for G4 would be a huge nod towards fans of older gens.

Minty has so far had a blind bag, but otherwise have been absent in G4.

So for those of you excited for this fall’s releases, here’s the pamphlet of (most) of it! I’ll go through each item and note what we know so far. Lots of info, so jump under the cut. Read more →

Two seperate toys that are related. First is the Mrs. Cake set. With “Mrs. Dazzle Cake” and “Twirly Treats,” children can make plastic treats with the included plastic tools that clip onto legs. The set is part of Crystal Princess Celebration, but there’s no listed price or release date.

The line is expected to be released in the fall of 2013, with playsets like this being under $20. You can find the Amazon page here. It’s not up for preorder, but there is the “official” description of the product.

Thanks to both anon and luxrayx for shooting this to my inbox.

Next is a Mr. Cake blind bag figure found on Taobao by Luxrayx on the MLP Arena. He and the Mrs. Cake blind bags will be part of a deluxe miniature collection of 5 figures, presumably with the baby cakes and perhaps Pinkie Pie. The release date is assumed to be around fall as well.

She’s really cute!

She was found on Taobao by Sakuyamon on the MLP Arena.

She’ll most likely be included in a new wave of miniature collections, or perhaps a wave 9 of blind bag figures. For now we know that she has a unique mold, which lends itself to miniature collections.
